Student Pharmacists Recieve Valuable Experience

Students from South College’s pharmacy program volunteered with Remote Area Medical (RAM) during a recent free clinic event in Knoxville, where they worked alongside health professionals to help serve underserved community members. At the clinic, which provided dental, vision, and medical services to hundreds of people, the students got hands-on experience beyond classroom learning — counseling patients, dispensing medications, and participating in real patient care. Faculty emphasized how this kind of experiential learning helps students grow not just their clinical skills but also their compassion and understanding of community health needs. The partnership gave students a deeper look at the challenges some patients face in accessing healthcare and highlighted the meaningful impact they could have as future pharmacists.

The Knox County Election Commission has released important information about the 2026 Knox County primary elections, including how and when to vote by absentee (mail) ballot.
